It started with social media – which is where I learnt to hate it. I’m sensitive to words – as some people are sensitive to light, or noise – and some words and phrases drive me nuts.
The phrase ‘get it’, or ‘getting it’ rose to prominence in 2009 with the rise of the social media bunny. You, apparently, either ‘got it’ or you ‘didn’t get it’. It was the worst insult they could throw at you. ‘He doesn’t get it’.
Ooooh it irritates me.

‘Getting it’ has gone mainstream.
Get it?
